Can a clinician prescribe TB-500 now?
Yes. Since October 30, 2026, an HHS policy lets licensed 503A pharmacies compound TB-500 acetate for a patient with a prescription, under ten conditions. The policy is enforcement discretion, which is different from FDA approval, and HHS can revise it. Your clinician decides whether TB-500 is right for you.
Important safety information
Compounded TB-500 is not an FDA-approved drug, and FDA has not reviewed it for safety or effectiveness. It is prepared by a licensed 503A pharmacy for one patient and dispensed only on a clinician's prescription. TB-500 is on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list.

What it is
A fragment of a protein your cells already make
Thymosin beta-4 is a 43-amino-acid protein found in nearly every cell in the body. TB-500 is a seven-amino-acid piece of it, the stretch researchers call its active site, made by peptide synthesis.
Until now, most TB-500 sold online was labeled "for research use only," with no prescription, no clinician and no pharmacy label. HHS wrote its October 2026 policy to give patients "a more controlled alternative" to research-use-only peptides from foreign manufacturers.
Under that policy, a licensed 503A pharmacy can compound TB-500 acetate for you on a clinician's prescription. Your vial holds TB-500 and nothing else, labeled with your name, and your clinician sets the dose.
How it works
What the research looks at
Actin, the cell's scaffolding
Thymosin beta-4 binds actin, the protein cells use to move and change shape. Researchers study it because cells moving into place is an early step in tissue repair.
Most research used the full protein
Most published studies looked at full-length thymosin beta-4, mostly in animals. TB-500 is its seven-amino-acid fragment. Your clinician weighs what that research does and does not tell you.
One ingredient, one injection
The policy covers single-ingredient TB-500 acetate, given as a subcutaneous or intramuscular injection with an FDA-cleared syringe, on the schedule your clinician sets.

Who it's for
For people who check where their peptides come from
TB-500 through PepScribe is for adults who want it the way any other prescription works: a clinician, a pharmacy and a label with their name on it.
- You've read the thymosin beta-4 research and want TB-500 from a licensed pharmacy
- You've bought research-use-only vials and want to know exactly what's in yours

- You want one ingredient, compounded in the USA, with nothing added
TB-500 isn't right for everyone. If your clinician decides it isn't a fit, they'll tell you why, and you're never charged for medication you weren't prescribed.

What's been studied. And what hasn't.
Most thymosin beta-4 research is in animals, and most of it used the full 43-amino-acid protein. FDA's drug center recommended against adding TB-500 to the bulks list. FDA's advisory committee voted in favor in July 2026, and HHS pointed to new testing data from FDA-registered manufacturers. Our research library lays out both sides, with sources.

TB-500 questions
Things people ask before they sign up.
If something is not here, reach out, we'd rather answer it plainly than have you guess.
Is TB-500 FDA-approved?
No. Compounded TB-500 is prepared by a licensed 503A pharmacy for one patient and is not an FDA-approved drug. FDA has not reviewed it for safety or effectiveness. HHS's October 2026 policy lets pharmacies compound it under conditions. That policy is enforcement discretion, which is different from FDA approval.
Is TB-500 the same as thymosin beta-4?
TB-500 is a seven-amino-acid fragment of thymosin beta-4. Most published research studied the full protein, so results from those studies may not carry over to the fragment. Your clinician can walk you through the difference.
How is it taken?
As a subcutaneous or intramuscular injection, on the schedule your clinician sets. Your box includes the syringes.
What if I'm not approved?
The online visit is free, so there is nothing to refund. You are never charged for medication you were not prescribed.
How fast does it ship?
Most intakes are reviewed within 24 hours. After approval, your medication ships within 72 hours.
I compete in a tested sport. Can I use it?
TB-500 is on the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited list. A prescription does not change that. Tell your clinician if you are subject to testing.
Can I cancel?
Yes. There are no contracts and no cancellation fees. You can pause or cancel from your account.
