Can a clinician prescribe Epitalon now?
Yes. Since October 30, 2026, an HHS policy lets licensed 503A pharmacies compound Epitalon acetate for a patient with a prescription, under ten conditions, when it is dispensed in courses. The policy is enforcement discretion, which is different from FDA approval, and HHS can revise it.
Important safety information
Compounded Epitalon is not an FDA-approved drug, and FDA has not reviewed it for safety or effectiveness. It is prepared by a licensed 503A pharmacy for one patient and dispensed only on a clinician's prescription.

What it is
Four amino acids, four decades of research
Epitalon is a chain of four amino acids: alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid and glycine. Researchers in Russia designed it as a defined, synthetic version of Epithalamin, an extract of the pineal gland used in Russian gerontology clinics since the 1980s.
Until now, most Epitalon sold online was labeled "for research use only," with no prescription, no clinician and no pharmacy label. HHS wrote its October 2026 policy to give patients "a more controlled alternative" to research-use-only peptides from foreign manufacturers.
Under that policy, a licensed 503A pharmacy can compound Epitalon acetate for you on a clinician's prescription, given in courses with breaks between them. Your vial holds Epitalon and nothing else, labeled with your name.
How it works
What the research looks at
Built from a pineal gland extract
Epitalon came out of research on the pineal gland, which sets the body's daily rhythm through melatonin. Much of the Epitalon literature studies that rhythm and how it changes with age.
One research tradition
Most Epitalon studies come from one Russian research group, working since the 1980s, and much of it is in animals. Independent human data is limited, and your clinician weighs that record against your history.
Courses, with breaks
The policy covers Epitalon acetate given as a subcutaneous or intramuscular injection in courses, with time off between them. Your clinician sets the length of each course.

The research
Studied in aging animals
Decades of studies, mostly from one Russian group and mostly in animals, have looked at Epitalon and the pineal rhythm.

The policy
October 30, 2026
HHS published a policy allowing licensed 503A pharmacies to compound Epitalon acetate for a named patient, in courses.

The pharmacy
Tested before it's compounded

What's been studied. And what hasn't.
Most Epitalon research comes from one Russian research group and is in animals. FDA's drug center recommended against adding it to the bulks list. FDA's advisory committee voted in favor in July 2026, and HHS limited its policy to Epitalon given in courses. Our research library lays out both sides, with sources.

Epitalon questions
Things people ask before they sign up.
If something is not here, reach out, we'd rather answer it plainly than have you guess.
Is Epitalon FDA-approved?
No. Compounded Epitalon is prepared by a licensed 503A pharmacy for one patient and is not an FDA-approved drug. FDA has not reviewed it for safety or effectiveness. HHS's October 2026 policy lets pharmacies compound it under conditions. That policy is enforcement discretion, which is different from FDA approval.
Why is it given in courses?
HHS's policy covers Epitalon dispensed in intermittent courses, which is also how it has been used in the research. Your clinician sets how long each course runs and the break between courses.
How is it taken?
As a subcutaneous or intramuscular injection during each course. Your box includes the syringes.
What if I'm not approved?
The online visit is free, so there is nothing to refund. You are never charged for medication you were not prescribed.
How fast does it ship?
Most intakes are reviewed within 24 hours. After approval, your medication ships within 72 hours.
Can I cancel?
Yes. There are no contracts and no cancellation fees. You can pause or cancel from your account.
